Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988. Curry, the son of 16-year NBA player and accurate shooter Dell Curry, grew up playing basketball. College coaches were unable to look past his lanky build and mediocre 6-foot (1.8 m) height despite his accurate shooting and strong “basketball IQ.”
In his debut season with the Warriors, Curry averaged 17.5 points per game and quickly established himself as the team’s primary point guard. Curry played just 26 games in the 2011–12 season due to a string of ankle ailments, and he underwent ligament surgery in the offseason.
